" Design to organise chaos"
brief:
We chose a systems design approach for the range of beds. The design elements were conceptualised considering kids interest area and their safety. Since the products were for the renting market, there were several consideration, such as easy refurbishment, flat packaging, robust and long-lasting materials, etc.
* This project was a part of my job at Furlenco.

form inspiration
Here I am trying to learn from products and design elements of products that are successful and trending in the market. This will help me to design for a better market fit.

Same bed different functionality
Keeping the bed as a common frame, we designed 3 different activity areas each for different age groups.
Any of the activity part can be attached to the bed frame.

Product features
Kids safety was an utmost priority during the entire
design process. Along side we added custom printed fabric with a Velcro which makes it
easy to swap between themes as well as it helps in easy maintenance.

User testing and validation
Final prototypes were displayed at three different
societies to validate, test, and understand users’ reactions towards the entire range of kids furniture. This exercise also helped us freeze better pricing for the parents.
Watching kids play and use the features as we intended gave us a clear validation of
their engagement.

prototypes and testing
I worked on several prototypes to arrive at the right height and scale of elements that can work together as a system.
